The purpose of this page is to keep all of the Boone Utilities in one easy to find location.  For new students moving in to apartments around Appalachian State University, setting up utilities can be not only confusing, but a hassle.  Hopefully this site will make that process just a bit easier!

Boone Cable and High Speed Internet:

Probably the most common utility I’m asked about is cable and high speed internet.  While many apartment complexes have free wifi, the connection is often slow because of all of the tenants (either in the building or the complex) using the same connection.  If you need high speed internet in Boone for more intensive applications (gaming, video uploads/downloads, streaming movies and shows, etc), it is often a good idea to get a high speed internet account for your specific apartment.  *Remember to always password protect your wireless connection!*

Boone Water/Sewer Services

Most apartment complexes in Boone will already have your water/sewer services set up.  Sometimes this is included in your rent, other times you will receive a separate bill from your apartment complex for the water/sewer service.


General Water and Sewer Service

Customers who are experiencing problems with their water/sewer service, such as sewer stoppages, leaks, low water pressure, and dirty water, should call our department at (828) 268-6250 between the hours of 7am and 5pm. For after hour and emergency situations please call the Town of Boone Police Department at (828)268-6900 and they will contact the person on call to report in.

Water and Sewer Locates

The Town of Boone provides both water and sewer location services for all lines that are maintained by the Town of Boone. Any time any form of construction activity requires digging, please contact our department at (828)268-6250, that way we can locate any lines in the construction area within forty eight hours. The Town of Boone does not and will not locate any private lines or lines maintained by other utilities, also the Town of Boone do not locate any lines on private property, other than lines that we already maintain inside of easements.
